New Kits, yo!

Couple of new kits for you. Gosh, it's all 'kits this' and 'kits that' atm. Anyway, one's a bit controversial, one is anything but. We'll start at the top with Aston Villa swearing in their new manager...

And releasing their new home and away strips.

I will leave your good selves to work out which is which. I really like the home shirt. It's smart with a bit of funky arm detail. Not so keen on the away kit, top's a bit Man City esque but they do say imitation is the highest form of flattery and if we can copy how they play football too...well what a season we are in for. Even being a Villa fan, I am not colour blind and the blue top, claret shorts combo is a bit garish but in as good a way as it can be I suppose.
Nothing too exciting going on here. Moving onto more controversial matters concerns a club not in the Prem, but it's worth the story. Here are Cardiff's home and away kits.

I won't leave you to guess which is which here. Yes, Cardiff, or the Bluebirds as they are also known, who always play in a blue home kit, well...not this season. They have plumped for...red!? I actually feel sorry for Cardiff. They are labelling it the Red Dragon Rebrand which is nice, but it's hardly traditional or in-keeping with Cardiff. Their Malaysian owners think it appears more successful and more appealing to an Asian market. It's sad to see the way football is going and sometimes sacrifices have to be made for the greater good and survival of teams but it doesn't make it right. Buyers should respect the history and traditional values of what they are actually buying into. If Villa had to suddenly play in a blue and white kit, there would be hell to pay. Your colours represent your team. Cardiff have received the corporate, franchise treatment and every football fan could agree on one thing - it sucks. Football loses it's soul with every business move like this made where the club and fans are just disregarded. Money, money, money...must be funny.
